MASEA will begin to finalize the details of our 2008 Annual Conference after the New Year. Part of that finalization includes getting assistance from our members to serve in various capacities such as moderating, working with AV, helping to organize SEE Training, and general conference planning. We also will need help with our upcoming 2008 Student Employee of the Year program.
Below please find link to our Volunteer Application Form, which will indicate the areas in which we are seeking assistance. Your help is vital to the success of our 2008 programs. Some positions require just a little time, others require more. We appreciate whatever time you can give, and the board is here to support you in your efforts, and to offer assistance and guidance where necessary.
The professional development experience outside of the workplace is a great resume enhancer as well, so your time is not only an investment in MASEA, but in yourself as well.
Please feel free to contact me for more information about these positions, or any member of our board who may work in that area.
You may complete the form and return to me via any method you choose as listed on the form.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Sincerely,
Cathy

2008 SEOTY
NSEA encourages each institution to offer a Student Employee of the Year competition to recognize excellence of student employees. With the help of a grant from the United Parcel Service (UPS), NSEA is pleased to offer financial assistance to institutions who wish to establish an SEOTY competition and celebration on their campus, but lack the necessary funding to do so. The UPS SEOTY Grant will help cover the cost of running the competition and a cash award for the student winner.
Congratulations to the following recipients of the UPS Grants awarded on November 1, 2007:
Sherri Girard – Valdosta State University
Larry Donley – East Carolina University
Heather Ball – American University
Additional monies have been identified and allocated for 2008 SEOTY Start Up Grants.
Applications will be accepted from NSEA member institutions and must include budget items for the institutional competition. These additional grants will be also be awarded in 2007 for the 2008 SEOTY competitions. Each institutional grant recipient will be required to submit a photo of their celebration and article for the Spring NSEA News newsletter.
The completed applications for the additional grants should be returned as email attachments to Jackie Biron, Vice President of Member Services, at jbiron@lifewest.edu by November 15, 2007.
Recipients will be notified the week of December 1st with checks being sent out the following week.
